Morning study today:
Today I am thinking about the Apostle Andrew. Andrew was a good person from the beginning, he was a disciple of John the Baptist. He brought his brother Simon Peter to Jesus. He was the first apostle called. At times he was included with Peter James and John. But other times he was not included. I wonder how he dealt with those feelings? Sometimes we don’t get what we think we deserve in serving Jesus.
I guess I’ve never really thought about Andrew but it does make me stop and think how I have felt in those times and wonder if he felt the same or if he was secure in who he was with Jesus.
Of course I don’t know if this was the case with Andrew, but it is a fact that some people in our churches today, though they be godly and faithful, do not accomplish feats of particular note as do others. In God’s eyes, though, if we’re faithful to His plan for us, that is all that is required. We may never preach at large conferences, hold offices on denominational boards, write books that multitudes read, or record glorious songs. I suspect it depends on a particular person’s disposition, as to whether such a person feels slighted when his name is mentioned less than others. Every person likes to be noticed, albeit some more than others…….As for me, I’m grateful for every little opportunity I have had to be involved in God’s Work. Best life in the world!
Good! How are you?
